Lasers can be used as a safe and effective treatment for a wide range of dental procedures and are often used in conjunction with other dental instruments.
They are a major help in many aspects of dentistry providing accuracy, speed and improved care. This means that the patient undergoes a less invasive procedure, in a shorter time with more precise results and optimal healing.
At Lonsdale Dental Practice, we are proud to deploy a number of laser technologies helping with procedures including tooth decay, fillings, gum disease, root canal treatment and general sterilisation and healing.
Diagnodent (Laser Caries Detector) – detects early decay that would not be seen on an X-ray allowing the dentist to adopt a preventive treatment to strengthen the teeth or seal the teeth to prevent further decay
Healing Laser – uses laser light to encourage healing
Fotosan Laser – uses light to disinfect an area
Biolase Laser – is used to cut soft tissue and can be used for many treatments rather than a scalpel blade
The videos below explain more about the various uses of lasers within dentistry.
