Filling Replacement

You may need to have a filling replacement due to dental decay, the filling falling out or because you would like a safer, less noticeable white filling in your mouth.

Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal

People who have mercury amalgam  (metal) fillings in their mouth are most certainly exposed to more risk of toxicity than those who do not have mercury. Safe removal of these fillings limits the risk of ingestion or inhalation of mercury by the patient. Click here for further information on Mercury Amalgam Removal

Using proven and friendly techniques, we will remove your metal fillings in a safe and clean way to ensure that there is no leakage to other parts of the body. We follow a procedure that

  • Personal diagnosis and discussion – to determine your options and treatment process
  • Relaxation– a range of sedation options including hypnotherapy, Quicksleeper, the Wand or local anaesthetic
  • Protection –  Isolate the tooth with a dental dam (sheet of protective material)
  • Mercury Amalgam removal with special burs reducing the risk of  spillage
  • Vapour suction and extraction machine to remove all traces
  • Detoxification aftercare with TOXAPREVENT capsules

Dental Dam

A dental dam is used during a filling replacement to isolate the tooth or group of teeth being treated from its environment, in particular from the bacteria in the oral cavity. It also protects the patient’s airway from any materials, such as Amalgam, which may fall down into the back of the throat during treatment.

Made of thin squares of latex rubber or silicone, the rubber dam is held over individual teeth or groups of teeth by appropriate rubber dam clamps or threads (ligatures) along the edge of the gum. This creates a clean and dry operative field, retracts the lips and cheeks, and enables treatment of the appropriate tooth without contamination from blood or saliva, or shavings of amalgam.

Toxaprevent Tablets

Following an amalgam filling removal, to ensure complete detoxification, we will prescribe Toxaprevent PURE Capsules which are specifically formulated for the removal of toxins in the lower digestive tract i.e. the small intestine and colon.

Taken orally, Toxaprevent stays only in the digestive tract and is eliminated through natural bowel movements, taking the toxic substances with it as it moves through the system.
