Self-Ligating braces are similar to traditional fixed braces, they still require brackets and orthodontic wires. They are a type of fixed brace, however unlike conventional metal braces, they do not require the elastic ties.

Self-Ligating braces use a unique slide mechanism that minimises the friction and binding associated with the conventional metal braces. This reduces the pressures on your teeth and allows them to move much more comfortably, creating greater comfort throughout treatment.

These braces are designed to be discreet, comfortable and easy to clean. Unlike conventional fixed braces, the lack of needing the elastic ties means a reduced plaque collection. Allowing dental hygiene to be much easier throughout treatment. These braces are also available in a clear ceramic material for patients who are more conscious.
